Welcome to Calvert Hall!

Welcome to Calvert Hall! As a member of the Class of 2015, you are joining a fraternity of men who have learned in the Lasallian tradition in Baltimore since 1845. I will be one of your teachers in this new adventure.

My name is Frank Passaro. I joined the staff at Calvert Hall in the fall of 2003. God has led me various places in my career. I have been a teacher and administrator in a variety of schools and school systems nationally for more than thirty years; but, Calvert Hall is home for me. I graduated from CHC in 1971, my sons graduated in 2000 and 2006, and my late father was in the Class of 1942. We know the value of a quality Christian education conducted in the spirit begun in Rheims, France in the mid-17th century by St. LaSalle and his brothers.

The course I teach is called World History. It is a survey course. That means that we will study major ideas and information over a long time span. I will tell you more about the course when we meet in August. The most important thing is that you complete your summer reading and the assignment that accompanies it. You can find the specifics of all of this on the school website at https://www.calverthall.com. You can find textbook information on that site as well.

Specific supplies for my class include:
• You must keep a history notebook for your lecture notes. I recommend the Calvert Hall spiral notebook that you can purchase in our school store.
• Pen and pencil: Make sure your pencil has a good eraser. Any written work that you submit needs to be word-processed or neatly written in blue or black ink.
• A couple packages of Post-It notes and a Hi-Liter pen to help you in your active reading.

I look forward to getting to know you this year. If you, or your parents, have any questions, please contact me at passarof@calverthall.com or fpassaro1@verizon.net. My home phone number is 410-256-8399. Learn more about me at my website at www.frankpassaro.com.

See you soon!
Sincerely,
Mr. Frank Passaro
World History Teacher
